Karns City is a borough located in the southern portion of Butler County in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2010 census, the borough's population was 232.
Karns City was originally settled in the early 1800s and was named after James Karns, one of the area's early pioneers. It was officially incorporated as a borough in 1858.
The borough is located along the scenic Allegheny River and is surrounded by rolling hills and rural farmland. It is home to several parks and recreation areas, including Chicora Community Park and the North Washington Rodeo Grounds.
Karns City is served by the Karns City Area School District, which includes Karns City High School, and is located near the intersection of Pennsylvania Route 268 and Pennsylvania Route 128.
The community is known for its annual Karnival Days festival, which includes food, crafts, and live entertainment. Additionally, the Karns City area is home to several unique businesses, including a family-owned sawmill and a maple syrup producer.
